Okay It's hot now... the sprinkler is out!

As much as I'm not into winter, I'm not into summer either. I know... hard to please. It was super hot today so I actually agreed to bring out the sprinkler for some water fun. The girl was happy to play and run around in it, whilst I took some pictures for her album. We also had to try on the new bathing suit for this years swimming season, I think it's two cute!! The bottoms might be a little big but we can fix that with a stitch or two. After the play, we sat in the sun room and had a little snack and cold drink before heading inside to the nice cool air conditioning.

Ultrasound at almost 19 weeks

Everything went really well, and I'm so relieved! I drank about half the water required of me and was full almost instantly with almost a 45 minute drive left to go. When I got there I was about ready to explode! LOL They got me in pretty quickly and after a few minutes of her looking she asked me if I have felt baby moving. I said yes, wondering why she was asking, as if something was wrong and the baby wasn't moving now. (always thinking the worst right?!?) Well then she said, "I don't know if I can do this, this baby is moving way to much!" *phew!* So she told me to empty my bladder almost completely (ya like that is easy to do) but it did make me feel much better and after that, baby cooperated nicely. She worked away at the pictures and measurements and then after about 10/15 minutes or so she was done and let Scott come in for a "viewing" She showed us everything but the "money shot". It kind of made me realize I do want to know the gender but yet I still don't want to, kwim? Anyway... It was great to see our little one moving around in there, kicking and moving his/her feet, opening and closing his/her mouth taking big gulps of fluid. It was the best day I've had in a LONG time! Scott was so taken by it and I think it's finally real for him now. We got 8 pics to bring home and show the girls, they were pretty taken with the little one too. She said I'm measuring a bit bigger but only by a few days, so my date according to the u/s is October 29th, but it's not enough to make me change it in my mind.

Prenatal Appt. & Apples

I'm 18 weeks already! Can you believe it??? I had another prenatal appointment today, everything is going well and I've only gained 3 lbs so far. (Yippee!!) Blood work all came back negative, that's where they test for Down's and Spina Bifida, so that's good. Heard the heartbeat again at about 140 so it seems to be on the lower end of things, I think, pretty similar to Daelyn. AND my ultrasound is on Friday. I'm nervous that everything will be okay but also really excited to see my little baby!

Also exciting for us is that our apple tree is blooming, a LOT! Last year it didn't bloom more than a few flowers and we didn't get a good crop. We only made about 4 pies the whole winter. This year should be similar to 2 years ago where we got the wagon full, made pies all winter and gave away bags full to neighbours! I've still got my peeler/corer/slicer so I'm ready to go come end of summer!! :) Isn't it beautiful!?!

Piano Recital: Year 2

The Hailster had her second piano recital a couple of weeks ago and did great. I was glad to hear that her teacher wasn't having her play a classical piece from her lesson book, but went with something she enjoys a song from Les Miserable, Castle on a Cloud. Here's a video to share:

I guess I didn't post Easter pics yet this year, so I thought I would now. I haven't posted in a while and it looks like I'm gonna make up for it. LOL The girls got so much chocolate and stuff this year, we're still working away on it (well Daelyn's anyway) 5 bunnies each!!

These were the following weekend at the town wide Easter Egg Hunt put on by one of the local Churches. It was a lot of fun, with lots of eggs to look for, cookies, and hot chocolate as well. It's just to bad the weather was pretty cold still.
The Hailster actually went to Youth Group the night before and helped fill the plastic Eggs with candy. Yumm-o!

They even had face painting and Daelyn of course asked for a yellow duck. This poor lady's fingers were frozen!

So in my last post, I mentioned the question of whether or not I was feeling baby moving. I've been trying to pay attention all week and I think it is baby that I'm feeling. The timing of the flutters are not gastrointestinal related, so I'm pretty sure that's what it is. It's so very light and if you're busy you likely wouldn't notice, but if I'm reading in bed or just sitting I get that little tickle feeling. It's so great, and I love this part of pregnancy! It will only get better and soon hopefully I'll be able to share this with Scott and the girls.

Gee and I said I would do better! Oh well.

So I had my first prenatal appointment May 1st. All went well, it was the usual stuff: height, weight, blood pressure, family history, my history, pee in the cup, physical exam, blah blah blah... but then I got to hear the heartbeat again. I didn't have the heart to tell the Dr. I've already heard it and acted a little excited when he found it! LOL For all those that are taking notes, when I finally got a count of it, it's around 156 - 160. So put that in your prediction thoughts for later. I have my u/s scheduled for June 5th, (what a great b-day present) and go back to my Dr. some time early June as well. I guess I better get that scheduled too. I also have some lab slips to go get the bloodwork done some time in the middle to end of May, they are so very relaxed here, quite nice.

I've been feeling okay, and am pleasently surprised that the morning sickness didn't amount to what it was last time. (knock on wood) I did seem to develope a cold, which is nasty when you can't take anything for it, but it's easing up now. Stuff noses can be a side effect of pregnancy, but I'm hoping not for me. It can take a hike anytime now!! I'm getting a belly now and people are starting to comment as well. I'm glad to be getting beyond that, "Is she just gaining weight" stage and into the "look at your belly!" stage. I can't tell if I'm feeling baby move around or not either. It's still pretty early but apparently it is possible especially with second and subsequent babies. I've been chalking it up to gas but that may not always be true. Daelyn wants to know when the baby will be kicking, thanks to some commercial (would you know I can't think of what it's for or even find it on the internet to show you) where this baby's foot pushes out of the momies tummy and kicks the dad in the face! LOL Unfortunatley not for a while sweetheart.

Alright I've spent way to much time looking for that dang commercial so I better head off to bed now. I'm pretty sure I've got some new scrapping layouts to post, but I'll save that for another day.

I've done a few since I last posted and thought I'd share. Most of them are using products from my ct Designer Pamela Donnis, because she's put out some amazing stuff lately and they are so great to use!

This one is of me. Yes I know, it's probably the only one. LOL It's using Pamela's kit called Picture This available at Funky Playground Designs.

And this kit called Rise and Shine was perfect for this photo of D waiting patiently for her pancakes.

Pamela's Easter kit called Easter Hop is so cute with this pic of the girls from Last year. Yes I know, I'm a bit behind.

My friends daughter, is so unbelievable cute. Especially in this little cowgirl dress! I made this page using Pamela's Wild Wild West kit a colab kit she did with Krystal Hartley.

And this one is my favourite! Pamela created this super cute kit which is called April Sampler and is free with any purchase of her products at Funky Playground Designs. This was D last summer. :)

Yup I'm pregnant. I'm sure most of you have heard on Facebook already but I thought I'd share the news for my scrapping friends as well. I haven't posted in a while as I just haven't felt up to it. I haven't felt as bad as I did with Daelyn (throwing up and nauseous all the time) but I haven't felt great either. I'm tired all the time, all day every day. Indigestion, peeing lots, nausea if I don't eat so I eat all the time, and a few other unmentionable fun things that come along with it. I'm 12 weeks now and super excited to have finally reached that point. We don't get to go back to the dr. until 14 weeks so my next (or rather 1st real) appt. isn't until May 1st. I'll be so excited then and will finally feel like this is real! The girls know, and are pretty excited about it. Hayley is thrilled that we told her we'd build a room in the basement for her, we figured she'd like that part of it. LOL Daelyn figures we should call the new baby Mattie, but I told her that name is pretty much taken. (Our dog's name is Mattie) LOL

So I'll try to be better at posting updates in this department, and I've even got a few scrapping pages to post as well. I'll get those up shortly.

I am just loving Pamela's designs. I'm am an event scrapper (for the most part) and her themed kits are really great to work with! Here's a couple more I got done this last week.

This one is using Pin Pals (at The Digi Chick) and the doodle is from Rock Star (Funky Playground Designs). Date bits are from Misty Cato.

The Race is Over

Well after 6 weeks of good scrapping, the Amazing Digi Scrapping Race season 4 is over. They haven't done the draw for the grand prize but I don't imagine we'll win so we're done. We're just finishing up picking our prizes at the last few stores, and all in all had a fun time! Some of them were quite the challenge and others were simple and fun. So here is our last layout as well as another one I did for my CT.

This was the last challenge layout. It was to tell a story about how you became or why you are storytellers. We could only use one picture, X many papers and elements and one photo of each of us or one combined. I didn't follow the rules exactly and ended up redoing it but this is the original one that I liked better so this is the one I'm showing you all.

And this is done with Pamela Donnis's kit, Gift of Gab available at Funky Playground.

More layouts! Wow I've been busy!! :)

So the race is almost finished! We've got one, maybe two to go before the big grand prize draw! I've also done a few Layouts for my new creative team, which I'm just loving. So here they are:

This first one was to do a layout that used vintage elements. We had to include a piece of lace, an old metal embellishment, and... oh dang I can't find the instructions and I can't remember exactly. Anyway it was to look vintage.

The second one is a CT layout for Pamela Donnis, using pieces from her Feb Grab bag available at The DigiChick. One of my good friends and her daughter. I took this picture in the summer when D and I went to visit them.

This one was from the race, at a road block. When we get to these only one person does the layout and this one was my turn. I had to do a layout based on answers from questions I asked my partner. (Oh and also it had to be predominantly only 2 colors) Since I know my partner in real life, and I know she's getting ready to move I thought I'd do a layout to kind of remember her time there.

This last one is another one using Pamela's stuff, the Pin Pals kit I used for my little siggy I posted previously. I haven't got any pics of me bowling yet, but I wanted one to show off my marvelous high score! LOL This was also for the race, where we had to ask a question on our layouts and that's it. No more jouraling or writing at all. Not usually my style. LOL

Yup I'm on another Creative Team, and I'm quite excited about it too. I wasn't out searching for team but one of the designers at Elemental Scraps was doing a call so I thought I'd apply. I like her designs and felt like it would be more fun than a chore this time, and much to my surprise I got accepted!!!! She is selling at The Digi Chick, and Funky Playground Designs. She's just moving to these two stores from ES and she's giving away some gc's, a $5 one here at DST and the other at FPD, a $3 off coupon for signing up for her newsletter. Easy!!! Here's some of her designs that have me excited to scrap again!

The thing these days is to make your "siggy" or signature out of scrapbooking designs, so over at Pamela's site I decided to make mine out of this kit. Isn't is cute???

So ya, that's what I've been up to this last week. I also have some more Amazing Race Layouts to do and post so I'll do that next time.

More Race Layouts

Well I've gotten some more layouts done for the Amazing DigiScrap Race #4. I'm enjoying it and am liking getting some pages scrapped. I wish the challenges were a little less themed and I had more freedom with them but alas, that is the challenge. (Again blogger is being stupid so I had to post these with photobucket which is a complete PITA. Grrrr!!!!!!)

The challenge here was to take the very first page in your online gallery and redo it. The point was to see how your scrapping has changed and evolved. So here is my original page, and here is the redo:

The challenge here was to do a layout "altered art" style and journal about a message you'd like to leave for future generations or a favourite quote/song. I don't usually scrap like this because I don't often see the point of putting wings on people and taking them out of their background. Regardless, I had fun with it and I think this page is beautiful and the message is something I want Daelyn to remember forever.

The challenge here was to use three frames, three empty frames. No pictures. We had to journal about something that we didn't have pictures for, either their weren't any or they were lost or destroyed somehow. Mine is about forgetting my camera's memory card last Thanksgiving when I wanted to get our family picture done. So you are to picture a nice fall family photo on this page. LOL

This challenge was simply to use everything that was provided us in the free mini kit. Included was everything you see here in the colors you see here. I didn't change anything. So with the little "chick" I decided it would be great to do a Feb Chick layout from my Chicago trip.

The buying of scrapping products, that is. I've been doing well with the freebies, but it was New Release Monday and Dollar Day over at Elemental Scraps. Seriously? Who can avoid that?? I did well though and didn't spend much but here are the cute goodies I got:

The date buttons from Bella Gypsy are so cute and I'm a sucker for date "anythings", and I couldn't pass up these little Dangle Charm alphas by Lucky Smith, both of which were up for $1 each! The Ready to Rock kit is a collaboration by Lucky Smith and Pamela Donnis and I had to have that for our Rock Band pictures, not a dollar, but on sale %25 off!! The cute little Monster kit by Leslie Bodoh is free this week for the "Inspired by" challenge at ES. I'm very happy with my little purchases, but also the restraint and will power I've had so far. LOL :)

Needing a new blog header / Card Creation

My blog header is so old, it's almost new again. I was going to change it but now realize that if I just wait another couple months it will be appropriate! LOL

I wanted to post a photo of a card I made for an online friend of mine. She's having her third baby, well she had him a couple weeks ago now, but anyway. Our group of girls (the Chicago group) all wrote out our personal greeting to her, and emailed it to me. I digitally scrapped them into small 2x3 photos, and put them together to form this lovely card. I actually went out and bought a ring to hold it all together, and some ribbon to fancy it up a bit. It took me longer to think of what to do then to actually do it. I was going to do a little board album but that assembly scared me. hehe Anyway I'm pretty proud of my little creation and she was happy with it so that was the main thing. I hope my paper scrapping / card making friends and family are impressed! LOL ;)
