New song in side bar

I'm sure you can tell by that heading there isn't much going on these days, the same ol', same ol'. For those that aren't on my facebook but have an idea of what we've been dealing with the last few months, I'm happy to report that it's all over and everything is okay.  Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!!!!!  Don't want to do it again!

I did put a new song in my side bar today.  This artist named Fiest was on SNL last night, and we recognized her song from a catchy commercial jingle that we like.  The song is called 1-2-3-4 and it's the iPod commercial.  It took us a while to figure that out... Zellers?  No.... K-mart?  No....  Joe's new clothing line!...... NO.   anyway the mystery is solved.  I like the song so I threw it up there for a bit. Enjoy :)

Well the countdown is on!  Yes to Christmas but also to our much anticipated winter holiday!  That's right... Jamaica!   Scott and Hayley have been counting down for a bit but now they've got Daelyn in on it. She wants to watch the resort tour all the time and see pics of it and keeps saying, "I can take this(insert whatever item she is holding at the moment) to Jamaica".   She asked if Mattie could come as well, but was happy to hear that she'll stay with Grandma and Grandpa for the week.  She even thought it was a good idea if Ducky stayed there so he didn't get lost!  :o  We'll see on that one.  LOL  Here's the link to our resort if you want to check it out.  Holiday Inn Sunspree

My latest interest

As some of you know for the last few years I have an interest in restoring vintage photographs.  I dabbled with it just to see if I could do it and surprised myself with what I created.  I enrolled myself in an evening/weekend class for Photo Restoration in our old community to learn the actual techniques but because of lack of interest the class wasn't able to get going.

I have been playing around with it off and on and have decided to try to make a go of it.  I have started a new blog specifically to show my work and to have a place for people to find me on the web.  I've just been trying my hand at different pictures that have been shared with me and am hoping to make some side cash as I get better.  If you'd like to check out my new site, you can right here.  Please pass this along to anyone you know that might be interested in getting something like this done.

I also do minor corrections, color conversions, and object removal, check out the side bar for examples of that as well.

Memories are precious and those older photos are nearing their end.  What better way to keep them alive for generations to come.

Just kind of lazing around this weekend, thankfully. Hayley's taking the Baby Sitters course today so it's a little quieter this afternoon. Daelyn's napping and Scott's taking the garbage to the dump so I thought I'd post my new desktop calendar. It's subtle and I like it. I decided to do away with the photos as I would get tired of looking at the same ones after a while and I just couldn't make them work they way I wanted to. I used a kit called Velvet Strawberry by Creative Confusion at Elemental Scraps. It's a wonderful kit made with deep colors and rich textures, prefect for the end of fall.

Remembrance Day Tribute

I know I haven't been regular with my blogging lately and I apologize. As many of you know we've been going through a rough patch and because of that I don't feel like posting as I might say something I'll regret in the future. I'm not ignoring you all so I thought I'd just explain myself.

On the upside I got my hands on a wonderful scrapping kit called "I Remember" by Cindy Irvine at ^tioberon studios. It's a limited edition kit (only around until Nov 11th) and it is themed for Canadian Remembrance day, but also perfect for scrapping those vintage photos of relatives involved in the wars. It's amazing how lifelike she has done her telegraph papers and her photo corners are true to the era. I choose to scrap the picture I had of Scott and his old co-workers at a Rememberence Day service last year, as it seemed fitting.

Halloween Pics

Yesterda was long and at times difficult but celebrating Halloween was a complete joy! It was so fun to have Hayley with us this year as it has been a LONG time since we've gotten to spend Halloween with her. I think the last time she was 4 and wore a cute little Fairy Princess costume that Grandma Lynda got her.

We carved a pumpkin on Monday night and it ended up freaking Daelyn out. She didn't want to put her hands in the pumpkin, and well, we couldn't let her carve it. Then in the end the face scared her. So it wasn't to pleasent of a night for her but we enjoyed it. Scott ended up finding her some Halloween cartoon songs on youtube to watch. She really liked that.

Yup even I dressed up..

I already posted the front of Hayley's costume but wanted to show off the back of the cape. That is the Full Metal Alchemist symbol from the show her character is from. She was so excited when someone at school (that she didn't know) actualy knew who she was trying to be. LOL
