OK So they're not coming today

Thanks to a perfectly timed winter storm, the packers are not coming out today. Hopefully they'll be able to make it tomorrow when this snow stops. I'm kind of dreading the morning of the packing day as it's going to be a little stressfull getting Daelyn up and ready to go to Grandma's so putting it off one day, is kind of a relief. The movers have already said they will be hard pressed to get our stuff to our new house by Friday so we're not expecting to get there until after the weekend now. Again frustraiting, but ok, we can deal with that. Mom if you're reading this I'm going to call you today. :)

On the scrapping front, I did do a LO for a journalling challenge at ES. The challenge was to do a list, so I choose to list all the things we've done to get the new house in November.

Journalling reads:
"Nov. 1-5 - Go on our house hunting trip Nov 4 - Put in the offer to
purchase Nov 5 - Up the offer due to a second offer on the house, and end up being the higher bidder and winning. Nov 6 - Talk to realtor then go see the flooring and cupboard people for reno quotes. Finish laundry at laundry mat. Nov 7 - Let the home inspectors and contractors into the house to get estimates for the renovations to be done Nov 8 - Drive to grandma’s to pick up Daelyn and Mattie Nov 9 - Talk to the bank then return home. to Amaranth Nov 10 - Make sure approved financing letter from Mortgage broker goes to Realtor Nov 20 - Moving company sends inspector to assess our contents Nov 21 - Finish phoning and faxing the Insurance company Nov 22 - Receive papers from Lawyer via courier to sign and send back Nov 25 - Take possetion of the house Nov 28 - Packers come to pack the stuff, and Daelyn and I go to Grandma Edmonds Nov 29 - Movers load up all the boxes Dec 1 - Drive to our new home to meet the moving truck with our stuff, and then enjoy the fact that November 2006 is OVER!!!"

I will be editing it of course once the month is over and we've done the move and everthing, but I had to have this done before the move. So anyway I thought it would be fun to have, to remember this crazy month by. :)

The house is officially ours!!!

At least I think anyway. We haven't had anyone phone to tell us that, but we also haven't had anyone phone to say that it's not! Today is the possetion date so Scott and a friend took the freezer and some other things that the movers won't take, down to the house. That will be a long day for them, about three house both ways! The movers are coming to pack on Tuesday now not Monday like I thought before. So we've been busy doing some last minute things, throwing out lots of garbage, sorting to put like things together, cleaning, and so much more. Our going away party is on Sunday so I'm looking forward to that. It'll be sad but happy all at the same time, if that's possible. It's hard to believe that our time here is actually done, as we've been waiting for this for two years now. We know we're getting out earlier than we should be and feel bad for our friends still here, but soon enough they will be getting out as well.

Now it's time to think about all the things we learned from being here and the positive changes it brought about in our life...

almost there....

OK so we got the lawyers papers from puralator this morning and after a few bumps with that we got them all signed and I'm currently waiting for the guy to come back and get them. (I sure hope he doesn't forget!) They should make it back to the lawyer tomorrow and all will be well. In the mean time we may have ended up getting our relocation lady fired. She was very difficult and after talking to other members they have said the same of her. Ever since the blow out with her and dealing with somebody else it's been a lot better. We're still not %100 sure when the packers are coming because of an error there as well, but that's minor. I just hope they let me know before they show up at 8am that morning to pack. :) Our mail has been set up to be forwareded, I've changed our addresses with all our bill collectors and I just have to set up our Sattellite account. I do believe there is a small light gleaming somewhere off in the distance. :) Oh gotta run puralator guy is here! Yaaaa!

I think I've had enough...

of this whole moving thing. It's so tireing trying to get everything done when you don't really know what all has to be done. Every time the phone rings we cringe because every time we talk to either or mortgage guy or our relocation lady something else is needed of us. And it's always needed ASAP! Our possetion date is this Friday so everything needs to be done for then. Scott got into it with our relocation lady and asked to talk to her supervisor, so you know how that must've went. She's been difficult from the get go really, so we were happy to talk to somebody else. Our questions were answered and direction was given immediatly with her.

The moving company sent their rep out from Wpg yesterday to assess what we have to move, and since we have stuff in "storage" we have to pay extra for the movers/packers to do that stuff to. *eyeroll* Oh well, that amount is minor and worth it not to have to drag it all over here to the house. She faxed me today an itimized list of our contents and on it was the date of our move. Unfortunatly this was different than the date we were told! It's only out a couple days, but we really need to confirm this! I swear there are way to many people involved in this process: us, the moveing company, the relocations company(Who is supposed to be assisting us in this process and the ones we are having the most problems with), the RCMP representative, the mortgage guy, the lawyer, the insurance guy, the realtor.... on and on it goes!

My new little purchase

Saturday was a day of craft sales, so me and a couple girl friends hit the road to two of them. At one of them we found a lady we knew selling Norwex. Norwex is a brand of cleaning products and supplies that are supposed to be environmentally friendly and reduce the amount of chemicals used. She had a new product out that was just screaming for us to buy it, a cleaning mit for in the bath or shower. She has little kids as well and said it's works perfectly on them. Well, we just had to get it. If you'd like to peak at the website, look here. And here's what my new bath mit looks like. I used it on Daelyn last night and you wouldn't believe how soft this thing is! :)

New LO of a different sort.

This LO, I did for a challenge at Elemental Scraps called "No Smiley Faces" The goal here is to scrap something other than our kids or other family and friends that are always so happy and smiling. There are other moments that we may want to remember or feelings we want to record. This round was to scrap something we are thankfull for that wasn't and never has been alive. Seeing as though we are currently thinking alot about our possetions and what we have (for the move) I thought what would I miss the most. I think everyone would agree that I would say the computer. LOL This is what the journalling says:
"When we moved to Amaranth for Scott’s job in September two years ago, I didn’t know how important this piece of our home would become. Seeing as there is nothing much to do here, and not a lot of people to do anything with, I came to rely on it for entertainment. Little did I know then, that I would finally find a hobby that would fill a need in my life that was missing. When I started Digital Scrapbooking I knew I found my passion, my way of expression. My days and nights are still long here but I know that I have a wonderful community of friends online, and forever something to do. I can live without my computer, but I definantly don’t want to."

I love this kit!!!

Ok so after a long story I finally got some new kits from Elemental Scraps. I thought this one looked cute, but when I started scrapping with it today I totally fell in love with it! Flowers in her hair by Faith True.

The colors are just beautiful, soft pinks and purples and the flowers on the vines are so sweet. I pulled out Daelyn's 0-6 month disc of pictures and found the perfect photo for it. One of Daelyn and Scott's cousin Taylor looking oh so sweet.

Journalling reads:
"Taylor is daddy's cousin and she is such a sweetheart.
You just curled right into her and were so content to be held by her."

OK I just looked at the kit in the store at ES and realized it's been there since May 06... where have I been!?!?!

Exciting Scrapping News

Elemental Scraps has gotten really busy in the last few months, we've added quite a few more ct members and lots of designers. We've changed our challenge format to echo the way scrapmommies was run, with their approval of course. I miss Scrapmommies, it was fun there. Anyway, we've grown alot and Joedee our owner has been super busy to say the least. She has decided to designate some of her duties out to us to lighten her load and she picked me for CT coordinator, to which I of course agreed! Basically I'm just someone that the other ct members can go to with questions or concerns as well as a few other things. It makes me feel great to know that they trust me with this. :)

Here's a new LO I did yesterday I thought I'd share. I've been slacking in the scrapping deptartment lately. :(

My nephew Adam on his ride home from the hospital at 5 days old. Journalling reads: "After an extra couple of days in the hospital with a possible infection, you finally got to go home. Oct 22 , 5 days old"

Did I forget about Halloween?

Yikes with all this house crap going on I forgot to post Daelyn's halloween pics. She went as a pink unicorn and tolerated the whole day very well. We went out for lunch with aunti Jen in the afternoon, in costume, and made lots of people ohh and ahh over how cute she was. LOL Then we went to the bank to do some stuff there while all grandma's previous coworkers gushed over her to. ;) Then after a nap and some supper we donned the costume again and went to see some family and friends and were home (to grandma's) before she started getting crusty. I'm not sure which costume looked better on her though, her's or Grandma's! LOL

OK here are the pics

Remember we're going to put some cosmetic work into it. ;)

This is the front of the house, obviously. To the right of the driveway is a walking path to the other side of the "bay" I guess, or as a short cut to the school.

This is the back of the house, a closed in deck. Unfortunately the door from the inside is off what's going to be Hayley's room. So we think we're gonna close it in, unless anyone has any other ideas.

Here is the kitchen and dining area. It's nice and spacious but needs some new cupboards and a dishwasher for sure. LOL Notice the 2x2 helping hold up the penninsula cupboards! Haha

Here is the wide open huge basement. It's got a laundry, furnace, water heater type of room on the left of the stairs and a workshop, storage room on the right and another bathroom with a standup shower. The other side of the room is totally open so we may end up putting another room down there but for now, it's a great rec room.

And the best part of the house, the purple tub and blue shower curtain. LOL ;)

Oh ya and we can't forget the shag in the two kids rooms ;)

Who needs water anyway?

Yup that's right, the well went dry yet again. Scott got up this morning to shower before work and there was no water. *sigh*

How do you know you're back home in Amaranth?

You're phone line doesn't work! That's just lovely. Anyway just wanted to let anyone know that might be trying to call. We're trying to get a hold of MTS to fix it now. :(

One of the worst weeks ever!

Yup, that pretty much describes our last week. So anyway, we put the offer in... that's where I left off. They had until the next day at noon to get back to us so we anxiously waited for the phone to ring that morning and got excited when it did around 10:30. It was our Realtor with news, but not quite what we were expecting... there was another offer on the house. OMGosh! Does that happen in small towns? Not usually so we're not sure what happened but non the less. We upped our offer a bit and had to fax some more papers back and forth. Just before noon the phone rang again and this time, she was telling us the offer was accepted. No counter or anything, simply accepted. Weird...so anway.. Since we wanted to do some home renos on this lower cost house the stress hit a new level. Because we wanted to take the mortgage out for more than the cost of the house to do the renos we had to get quotes for what it was going to cost. That meant getting in the flooring people, the cabinet people, the plumber, the electrician, and the carpenter. I know most of you are saying, "Why not do the work yourselves?" Frankly that is not an option. We have 120 days from the possetion date to get all the work completed so the mortgage people will give us the money. It's long and complicated and totally stress us out!!!! So we got all those nice and understanding people in there and told them what we wanted. They gave us all quotes and we forwared it on to our mortgage guy. The finacing for the cost of the house is pretty much done, we just now have to get confirmation on the extra stuff. Oh ya and since all the renos have to be paid by us first we had to go talk to the bank to! OMGosh it's been crazy.

So we're home now and feeling much better. There is still alot to do but at least we're not living at the hotel and trying to do things over the cell phone all the time. I was able to get some pics of the house, so when I upoad them I'll post them to show you all. :)

Waiting...

Well we put an offer in on a house this morning and we gave them until tomorrow at noon to let us know. So now we sit and wait...kill time...go shopping...spend money... blah blah blah. It's a decent house structure wise, with lots of room but we'll need to do some prettying up a bit. Some new cupboards in the kitchen, some paint, maybe a carpet here and there. Blue shag isn't back "in" yet is it? Anyway I shouldn't say to much unless it doesn't happen. If it doesn't... well we don't want to think about that yet. Tonight we had a nice supper at Joey's Only, then went and played at Ruckers. Yes, we're just like big kids but it was fun. We even won a little stuffed Elmo for my baby girl.

Alright gotta run, we're watching Click with Adam Sandler. :)

Buying a house is certainly stressfull.

Yes we're on our house hunting trip in the town we are soon going to be calling home. We looked at probably 10 different houses and only a few have jumped out at us. Unfortunatley there is something up with all of them. They are either to costly, to small, or to much in need of renos. I guess I kinda thought that the house meant for us would have this big sign saying "Here I am, I'm perfect for you!" and unfortunatley we didn't see any of those signs. So now we have to decide if we want to spend a higher amount or get something we need to put some work into, knowing we're not the fixer-upper kinda people. Some people would say we've been spoiled by previous houses we've rented and I'd have to agree. Bruno where are you????!!!!!

On a different note, I'm being featured at Elemental Scraps right now. They will be going through all the CT members so that's kinda cool. And we've also got a new look so check it out, black, white and red. I'm missing my scrapping. LOL

Oh yes and Scott thanks everyone for the Birthday wishes!

Alright gotta run, hopefully we'll have good news next time I update. :)
