WOW! It's been over a YEAR since I've blogged. (Almost to the date.) To be honest I'm not even sure if I'm going to continue. Some times you just feel like nothing is going on in your life that anyone would want to hear about. No new babies.... no big move on the horizon.... nothing drastic to write home about really. It seems like everyone shares on facebook now anyway, so is there even a need to keep my blog? Sometimes I struggle with privacy issues too. I feel like I have more privacy on here then FB which is strange as more people see my FB posts then read my blog, but yet this is wide open to anyone! LOL I like that you can post a picture, and tell the story that goes along with it on here. And really it's there to look back on for a long time... well forever I guess. I've enjoyed going back and seeing where we were a year or two or even longer ago. The most posts I made were probably around the time we moved here, or when DH had to guard at the jail in Regina for a week over Christmas holidays and we wanted to share with him what we were doing here. Happy times, and also some sad times although I try not to post too many of those. I feel like I shouldn't blog if I'm upset or angry as I'll likely say something I'd regret later! LOL
So we'll see if I can find something to write about, or share with you all. And if you're at all interested in reading my blog let me know. Comment on here (as anonymous if you want), or on the comment box on the side, or even message me on FB.
If you're reading this, thanks for stopping by!! :D

The table is Done!
Well it's been a long time but our new handmade dining table is finally finished!!!
Here are the chairs loaded into the back of the van going to get Varathained by a gentlemen who has a sprayer and can do it super fast. We fit all 8 chairs in the back!!

When I last left you it had been built. Period. After that, the hubby sanded and stained everthing a color we had chosen many months previous. Here's Daelyn modelling one of the chairs in the house. We had to make sure we were happy with the staining before we proceeded to the next step.

Once the chairs came back, we took the table in. The varathainer didn't have enough room in his shop for the whole set at once. So anyway, after taking out the chairs and putting them back in too many times, we got the table there for it's turn. When he phoned to say it was all done we were very excited! Hubby took off one morning to get the table and when he arrived home I knew something was wrong... He said, and I quote, "It's not as bad as it looks" GASP! What???????
Turns out he hit a pot hole on the way home, and not thinking of putting the table upside down the legs dug into the chair brackets on the floor and with the forward momentum of the top of the table, two of the legs snapped off. Oh My Goodness!!! I wish I could have inserted a picture here for you all to see, but I was not thinking of that right then. :( SO, after some wood fixing, re-staining and varathaining, and getting some new brackets to replace the bent ones, we got it back to being as good as new. Ughh......
So on Monday we had the first meal at our new handmade table.

I was afraid that it was going to be too big, but it fits really well. Our table maker, ended up taking a few inches off it's length for the same fear, and for that I thank him! We also have two leaves for when company comes, and a total of 6 regular chairs, and 2 captains chairs.
Remember the nice gentleman that manufactured it is 91 years old!!!

The seat cushions and place mats are for function only. We decided to go with ones that are easily washable until the kids get older, then we can purchase some nicer ones. :)
I have to say, I was hesitant with the whole thing, and the back of the chairs still aren't my style, but I'm very happy with it!!!

A day of spring.
First of all do you like the bees? (My new Blog look) I thought they were cute. :)
Once the snow all melted away (a week ago or so) and before the snow came again, (thanks to a freak April storm) we got out to enjoy the great weather. Here's some pics from one of those nice days.
